Welcome to the October edition of SuperNews. Quite a lot has happened, so let’s get started! There’s certainly plenty to read, and you can also look forward to an interview with ATomas!

Although ATomas is working flat out on RZE10, he’s still managed to add a few new features. Some of them are quite significant. So let’s get started!

Let’s start with the most important thing. The first major update to hit the server this month was the division of add-ons into categories. Individual categories are unlocked once you reach a certain level.

The second change – which I’d go so far as to call revolutionary – concerns properties. You can now purchase security for just 29 days instead of the usual 30. At the same time, the property’s security timer won’t be deducted whilst the player is online. What does this mean? As a property owner, you must be active for at least 24 hours in total each month.

We’ll now move on to the updates which, whilst they do relate to the running of the server – as, indeed, all updates do – aren’t quite as significant. 

Two new events have been added to the server, and there has also been a slight adjustment to the derby settings. The first was the DeathMatch Trajekt and the second was the Santa Maria Beach Race. Furthermore, the option to set the number of lives for vehicles has been added to the derby settings.

The website hasn’t undergone any major changes, but there is one new feature. Every new user must now be approved by an administrator. The reason is simple: over the last month, a total of 48 users have been blocked on the site for ‘spam from abroad’.

 

The administrators have prepared a large number of events for you in October, none of which were one-offs.

We kicked off the month with an event that has already taken place on the server in previous years. By that, of course, I mean the 2018 NASCAR Championship. The winner was err0rk0 with a total of 180 points, giving him a 19-point lead.

The second event we organised for you was the debut of the Isle of Man TT Races 2018. This was a motorbike race where no points were awarded for winning; instead, the result was the total time taken to complete the race. The winner was dendo with a total time of 1h 24m 54s. He had a lead of 3 minutes and 14 seconds.

RaceLiga has also returned to the server, this time as the 12th edition. The administrators organised a total of 60 races for you, which is a solid number for 14 days! The winner was once again dendo with 319 points. He therefore had a lead of 34 points.

You certainly don’t need to worry that November will be short on events – definitely not! We’re preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of SuperPařba! There’ll be a brand-new ranking and rewards system, so there’s plenty to look forward to! You’ll find out how the celebrations will unfold in a news update very soon.

We’ll now turn our attention to changes within the Administration Team; fortunately, there aren’t many, but there are a few.

Let’s start with those who have left us. First to leave was the administrator ANTIVIRUS, followed by the event organisers Tears, Online and Eminem.

Due to these departures from the Event Organiser role, a ‘selection process’ was launched. Candidates were tasked with organising a few events, which the management would then assess and decide on. The best candidate from each group was appointed to the role. Geroj and Kompresor were therefore appointed to the role of Event Organiser.

Replacing ANTIVIRUS on the team was apero, who moved up from Server Moderator and is now a full-fledged Administrator.

Krowky has changed a great deal this month! You can find out what happened to him in the statistics. In any case, he’s come to his senses and returned to the role of Crew Manager.

Let’s start with the more cheerful parts of the statistics.

The Administrators have organised a total of 373 events for you over the past month. As I’ve already mentioned regarding Krowky, this is the biggest surprise in this edition of SuperNews. Krowky has set a record for the number of events in a single month! He organised a total of 44 events for you, 13 of which were RaceLeague races.

In October, we answered a total of 6,212 enquiries for you. Arbys helped you the most, a total of 1,016 times.

The events also occasionally include freezes. Baseball used this option the most, freezing you a total of 47 times. In total, you were frozen 80 times.

Deleted adverts and enquiries, as well as fines, are now also included in the statistics. A total of 131 adverts and 132 enquiries were deleted. The most prolific deleters are Skylake (16 adverts) and Arbys (49 enquiries). 

Of course, newspapers were also deleted; a total of 132 newspapers were deleted. The biggest cutters of newspapers were Salazar and Wery, both of whom deleted newspapers 14 times.

In October, a total of $17,747,754 was removed from players’ bank accounts. [W]arning took the most from you, a total of $10,000,000.

We will now move on to penalties. Let’s start with warnings. A total of 953 warnings were issued, which is 81 more than the previous month. Skylake issued the most of these penalties, with a total of 105.

The administrators also sent you to jail on numerous occasions. You were arrested a total of 245 times, which is 61 more than last month. Baseball issued the most arrest warrants, totalling 35.

There were also quite a few breaches of the chat rules. You received 685 mutes, which is also 97 more than last month. Once again, Skylake issued the most mutes, with a total of 89. 

Now let’s move on to the penalties that got you kicked off the server. We’ll start with kickouts. A total of 127 players were kicked out; Baseball kicked you out the most times, 21 in total.

Skylake sent you away for a while, 30 times in total. A total of 177 time bans were issued during the month.

A total of 5 players were given a one-way ticket to ‘Banana Ostrava’. We don’t have a record-holder this month, as each permanent ban was issued by a different administrator (Skylake, _[CaRBoN]_, Wery, Baseball, Pink)

Things were also busy on the website. A total of 27 suspensions (temporary bans) were issued on the website. Warning issued the most, with a total of 9.

As I’ve already mentioned, a total of 48 users were banned from the website on the grounds of “Spam from abroad”, with Warning also issuing the most of these, totalling 16.

Fewer nicknames were changed on the site this month than last month. A total of 7 nicknames were changed. Pink changed the most, with a total of 6.

SN Editor: Hi Tom, I’m glad you’ve found the time to answer a few questions for SuperNews. The first question, which I’m sure many players are interested in, is: how do you see things with RZE 10 at the moment?

ATomas: Hi, thank you for having me. Well, RZE10 is nearing completion. At the moment, I’ve finished all the important bits and I’m just putting it all together and fine-tuning it. 

SN Editor: Do you have any concerns about the new version of SAMP, or RZE 10 in general?

ATomas: Yes, I do. Switching to RZE10 means switching to the 0.3DL version. So I’m worried about whether players will make the switch. Then, I’m worried that nothing will go wrong. It is, after all, a new version, and given my experience that everything works on the test server but always breaks on the official one, I do have some concerns. That said, it’ll be quick to fix. But the problem is that most players only go by their first impression. And if something breaks, that first impression is gone.

SN Editor: Well, that’s great news – do you think you’ll manage to get RZE10 out before Christmas?

ATomas: I firmly believe so.

SN Editor: Well, that’s even better news! That brings us round to another interesting point – are there any major events planned before Christmas this year?

ATomas: Yes, as always, the X-Mas Party is scheduled for 23 December from 6.00 pm. Unfortunately, I can’t be as involved in organising it as I’d like, as I’ve got my hands full with RZE10. This year, I’ve partly handed the reins over to the admins.

SN Editor: What do you think of the new server administrator, Panther?

ATomas: He’s a great addition to the admin team. He’s learnt the ropes quickly. And he’s just as capable as the other admins. I’m very happy with him.

SN Editor: More good news – let’s not just stick to the positives. Is there anything on the server that annoys you and you can’t do anything about?

ATomas: Yeah, it’s the swearing at the kids. I absolutely hate it. And above all, it puts newcomers off, and that’s the worst thing.
