Hello to all the players on the Superpařba server.

Even if you don’t play on our server, I’d still like to welcome you here, and I hope that in this edition of SuperNews you’ll find out about the latest news and interesting developments from July 2019.

First of all, I must introduce myself briefly. I play on the server under the nickname Fifa, and although I’ve been part of the admin team for just over five years (phew, that’s an age…), this is my first time putting together SuperNews, so I hope you’ll enjoy it.

There were a few glitches last month, which ATomas successfully sorted out, allowing us all to get back to playing without any hassle in no time at all.

» Want to repeat your previous ad? You no longer need to use ‘Ctrl + V’; just remember the command ‘/repeatad’.

» Gangs have been rewarded – the five gangs with the most respect points will share a whopping $500,000,000

» To take over gang territory, 20 gangsters must be online, but they must not be AFK.

» If a gang van is destroyed (e.g. by being thrown into water), it will respawn in a new location.

» If you’re being hassled by a police officer with the “/stop” command, press the spacebar; the check will take place immediately and you can carry on with your joyride.

» Are you sailing on the sea or a river and about to catch fire? Don’t hesitate to use the command “/pobrezak”. Yes, it’s a less glamorous job, but hopefully you’ll get lucky.

» Truck drivers have also benefited – they no longer have to pay to open gates at airports.

Nothing particularly groundbreaking has happened, but that’s what the holidays are like – we’re all out and about, going on holiday with family and friends, and older players will surely enjoy sitting in the garden of a restaurant or bar on warm evenings, having a cold beer. Am I right? And I’m all for it – you’ve got to make the most of such lovely days; there aren’t many of them in a year.

After quite a while, Raceliga XIII has appeared on the server. ‘XIII’ isn’t a name, but a serial number, just to set the record straight for the less quick-witted among us. The last Raceliga ended on 28 October 2018, so I hope you’ve also appreciated the return of this event. Personally, I hope we’ll see another instalment soon. Jertn has taken on the role of organiser, having been promoted from his previous position as events coordinator; you’ll find more information below. However, the idea came from someone else entirely; Disco contributed to the new Raceliga concept, not only by providing the idea for the event but also by creating several races (11), helping to edit the tables and drafting the topic headings.

Other contributors included Maxgustin (21 races), TripS (8 races), Yoistik (9 races), [T]omQe (2 races), Arbys (2 races) and SystemeR (1 race). In total, 62 races were organised, in which 93 players competed against one another. Each race was held twice.

So how was Raceliga different from previous editions? It was divided into three parts, so there was something for every competitor. The first part focused on Skyrace-style events – that is, racing on ramps, various jumps, loops and so on… The second part focused on street racing, so the main challenges for the competitors were lampposts, raised kerbs and other hazards of the city of San Andreas. And the third part was appreciated by older players, taking them back to their early days – the so-called ‘Old School’ races. After all, races involving collisions with Nitrous (but without premium advantages) and a maximum power level of 250% aren’t organised on the server that often anymore.

The final part was the qualifying round, which I’d like to call ‘sudden death’. The very best went head-to-head in a single race, and there could only be one winner. filajz.uzvisjakej emerged as the best racer in this event, and I’d like to congratulate him on his victory!

» Unfortunately, at the start of the month, the brilliant administrator Pink left the admin team. He spent a wonderful 18 months on the admin team, during which time he achieved a great deal; his departure is a huge loss for the admin team.

» Staying on the subject of departures, Panther has also stepped down from his role as the server’s chief administrator. Yet another great loss!

» Next to leave was Tumik, who stepped down from his role as events organiser; unfortunately, due to time constraints, he was unable to keep the server entertained.

» When Pink left us, Reggie_ and Gallaxy took over his role as forum moderators.

» Pink held a number of roles; Disco has now taken over the additional role of losses manager.

» A player from the gang system was recruited as a server moderator; he’s doing brilliantly so far – you’ll find him under the nickname Loly.

» Another player recruited as a moderator is a former administrator whom older players will certainly remember – the player err0rk0.

» The good old Maxgustin has returned to the OA role; he’s thrown himself headlong into building, and it shows in the figures – see for yourself below.

» [T]omQe has been recruited as a newcomer to the OA role; he’s got the hang of things very quickly and is organising some great events to keep you entertained.

» And since there’s never enough action, Jertn has been promoted from the OA role to administrator and event manager. Thanks to him, you’ve been able to see the Racelig mentioned above on the server after a long break.

Ben123 enjoyed issuing warnings to players, doing so 184 times out of a total of 911 warnings.

Rich, as the guardian of the warp, arrested 48 people out of a total of 259 offenders.

You must have been misbehaving at events, as Maxgustin froze players 43 times; in total, players were frozen 67 times.

Skylake never takes his eyes off the chat; he silenced 113 players out of a total of 569.

You submitted 6,830 queries; Ben123 helped you the most, an incredible 1,172 times.

Kicks had to be issued 382 times; Ben123 kicked the most players – 62 times.

Time bans had to be issued to 234 players; here, Skylake and Wery share the top spot with 40 time bans each.

Skylake issued 2 permanent bans, Jertn issued 1, and no further bans were required.

Maxgustin provided the most entertainment – 204 actions. There were 430 in total.

Rich also enjoys reading; out of a total of 80 poorly written news articles, he deleted 13.

A total of 295 adverts were deleted; Ben123 deleted the most, with 55.

With 45 deleted queries, Rich leads the way once again; these had to be deleted 370 times.

And, like a proper policeman, I keep an eye on fines; a total of $51,751,458 was collected from you, with Jertn collecting the most – just under 16 million. 

For those of you who don’t know the current moderator, Err0rk, I’ve asked him for a few short and interesting quotes from the past, which I hope you’ll enjoy. From my point of view, he’s an experienced player who’s returned to Superpařba to check out the new developments that have taken place during his time away. He must have been staring like a deer in the headlights from his sofa, because loads of new stuff has been added to the server over the last year or year and a half. Players who’ve been playing for several years will certainly agree with me.

When he expressed an interest in rejoining the admin team, there was no need to think twice. It’s clear that this player has a cosy spot on the admin team! And within moments he was appointed to the role; it’s only a matter of time before he’s promoted further, as he’s doing his ‘job’ very well indeed. Perhaps some of you were also pleased to see him return.

And what did he tell us?
He joined Superpařba in 2010.

» During the summer holidays of 2011, he received his first and last ban from the chief administrator, lofastka.

» Two days after the ban expired, he was appointed to the role of administrator by lofastka.

» He remained part of the admin team until 1 January 2015

» During his time there, he served as a spam filter, forum moderator, and also as the main administrator of the website and server.

» After leaving the admin team, he took a long break whilst buying a new PC.

» Last year, the game was lagging so badly that it was unplayable. (Editor’s note: Older people just don’t get on with PCs...)

» Three months ago, he sorted out the problem and started playing actively again.
